Electromechanical and textile design studio, prototype and pre-series production laboratory.

Founded in 2011 with headquarters in Prato, it has gained solid experience in the industrial sector of Defense.

The sector where we have invested the most skills and experience in is Personal Injuries Prevention Devices and Human Performance Enhancement Systemin (HPES), in particular:

• individual ballistic protections (Bulletproof vests)
• active and passive exoskeletal systems for use in the militaryfields, public safety, sports and disability support.

Our services:

• Design of devices with electromechanical and textile parts.
• Realization of mechanical/mechatronic/textile prototypes.
• 3D printing of polymer components.
• Execution of preliminary physical-motor compatibility tests.

In 2016 Mech Lab joined the PBI (Protezioni Balistiche Italia) consortium, already a supplier of the Italian Defense with the aim of developing and producing individual ballistic protections.

In 2018 joined the NATO group “Introduction Of Exoskeleton In The Battlefield” which studies the next use of exoskeletons in the NATO military.

In 2022 joined the “Technology and innovation unit” group for the development of exoskeletons as part of the “Exosol” project, a project shared within EDA (European Defense Agency).
